How does the Panama digital nomad visa work?

In recent years, more and more digital nomads are choosing to live and work remotely in different countries around the world, and many countries continue to join this wave!

Panama is one of them, and since 2021 it has allowed digital nomads to work remotely in the country, as long as they fulfil a series of requirements.

Among the most relevant are: having a contract with a foreign company or working independently with clients abroad, having health insurance for the duration of the stay, and having sufficient income to subsist in the country.

In addition, it allows remote workers to stay in the country for a maximum of 9 months, although it is extendable for a further 9 months, making a total of 18 months residing in Panama!

The main objective of this visa is to encourage business tourism and teleworking in the country. For this reason, Panama has decided to join the list of countries with visas for digital nomads.

If you travel frequently, the Revolut Metal Card is another great way to save money. For starters, they offer you unlimited currency exchanges without paying any fees!
