Hi there! I’m Renato, and I’d like to share a bit of my background and how I became a digital nomad.
Travelling from the lush tropical forests of Rio de Janeiro to the vibrant streets of Barcelona, I have always aspired to live a life of new experiences and learning.
My passion for travel started early. Born in Brazil, and always with a restless heart, I knew the world had so much more to offer than my own backyard.
I never felt truly comfortable in my comfort zone, as strange as it may seem.
At the age of 21, I made a big decision: to throw myself out into the world with open arms. That decision has led me to travel to over 35 countries and a life full of adventures, many of which I share here with our Planet Nomad readers.
Living with Purpose
Travel was never just a hobby for me; it has always been a way of life. In fact, it was through becoming a digital nomad that I found the perfect balance between work and my passion for exploring.
I believe that every destination presents us with a unique opportunity, and every new experience is a lesson to learn from. I have been lucky enough to witness the cultural richness of our world, as well as the kindness of strangers that I now call friends.
Digital Transformation and Sustainability
My journey has not only been physical. It has also been a “pilgrimage” towards a sustainable future. With each new destination, I look for ways of living and working that protect our planet. As a digital enthusiast, I strongly believe in the power of technology to foster sustainable and collaborative practices.
Always a dreamer
For me, dreaming is planning for the future. Every dream I have had has become a plan: learning a new language, immersing myself in an unfamiliar culture, or contributing to an environmental project. These dreams are what drive me forward and inspire me.
Planet Nomad is a window to my world
With Planet Nomad, I share my mistakes, learnings, challenges, and experiences. It is a diary of my life as an insatiable traveller and digital nomad. It is also a great source of inspiration for those who, like me, dream of a nomadic lifestyle and followers of “slow travel”.
It is here that I share my tips on remote work, entrepreneurship, travel stories, and reflections on sustainability.
